Protests and Boycotts Essays - Southern California,

The Metrolink strike of ontario california, this was all happening around late October when the amount of people decreased that would go on the metrolink regularly , this mainly had to do with the fact that the Metrolink Had killed a man that was on the train tracks. Even though the train had resumed its route to L.A. after the strike people still did not think that is was right. This has actually happened multiple times around this community. Believe it or not but these trains are extremely safe but these things are extremely tragic. Obviously the owners of the metro link should be taking more safety precautions at this point even if it does mean fencing people off or setting something up that gets people of the tracks so this will not happen. The strike of the Metro Link took a huge tool on the numbers that the metro was getting. It shows how much of an impact that the people really do have ,Yes it is not the same case as when the bus boycotts but you must remember that they are fi ghting with different causes and are both trying to make something better out of what is happening, I had asked my parents and family about what they thought about all of this and they said The metro link needs to make a change to make sure that this doesn't happen again, it's rather odd that they don't have anything like a fence or a gate in certain spots that trains pass by , it is 2019 their hasn't been anything like it anywhere. I had also interviewed a young woman that said she lives close by the where the strike occurred she told me I heard all the officers at the tracks and had already known what happened she say that this has happened 3 times since she moved here in 2007. This accident also happened to effect train service all throughout Southern California. Not only did this cause a strike but it change the viewpoints of many people on if these train or the metrolink are really safe. The man that passed away was never identified and this is also a tragic happening, I had spoken to an officer who was at the time hearing all this over his radio and he says Things like this are terrible, this shouldn't be happening anywhere around the world , personally i feel that the metros and the train stations have to make a change but that's not my job to change the rules. People compared this too when it happened in San Bernardino California when a person was struck by a train and fatally injured, the conductor only says the individual shouldn't have been on the track but honestly i believe that the companies of trains and such should not even have to have this problem their should be more safety precautions to make it easier on the train itself. The picture shown up top is of the Metro Link the same train that hit the man and the company that everyone was boycotting. A reporter for the daily bulletin had asked someone who was boycotting this and they had said I don't want to be on a train that has killed people, i do not want to be acotiated with this. This had a major impact on lives on worker on everything around the Southern California area it's just absolutely insane too see the impact that this had on so many people the community actually hasn't been the same since. The metro took a great impact and yet train companies haven't done anything to change something about this. Rokos, Brian, and Brian Rokos.
